Review and Tuning Tips for the Moses 107 Race

Who’s it for?

Bruce: The Vento 107 is for accomplished foilers who like to foil fast and want exceptional upwind/downwind mobility. The 107 mast is made from high modulus 12K carbon and crazy stiff, especially torsionally, which really matters when you get powered up. The long 1150 fuse is very pitch stable at speed and tracks upwind well.

Dale: Moses describes this as the “pinnacle” of their racing division. This is without a doubt the pinnacle of windfoils, but I really think it is well suited to racers and free foilers too. Never did I think a foil could be so responsive, stiff and quick, while offering maximum stability and ease of use. If you really want the pinnacle of windfoil performance, and you’re not afraid of the price tag, this is it.

Wing choices:

Bruce: The 107 wingset covers all the bases from 8 to 30+ knots. I use the 1000 wing in light winds or for windward/leeward racing with my 7.0 and 8.5 Flyer-FR sails. I'll switch to the 800 wing for lit 7.0 riding or with my 6.0 and 5.2. When it gets windier I'll switch to the 671 wing with 5.2 and 4.5 sails.

Dale: I’m mostly into having fun racing and chasing my friends on the water, doing 360’s, duck jibes, and sometimes going on long adventures up and down the Columbia River. When the wind is 10-22mph I ride the 800 wing paired with the Flyer 7.0, 6.0 and 5.2. If it’s 22mph+ I ride the 671 wing with my 5.2 and 4.5 Flyer.
