What influenced you to start windsurfing?
I have always have been a water person and 35 years ago I was living in Nebraska and was always looking for entertainment. In the summers, Nebraska had wind and small lakes so windsurfing seemed to be an option. I had seen the popularity while in Europe and started looking for board. I found a used one-design board and a group of people who raced on the weekends. I learned by following them around and eventually passed them.
Moved to SoCal in 1985 and transitioned to short boards and the addiction has never left me.
A little about yourself:
As of July 1, 2016 I will be retired and able to windsurf more often. My wife is also an avid sailor so windsurfing has been part of our life, marriage and friendships for over 30 years.
We have moved from SoCal to NorCal and will eventually settle in the Central Coast area of California. I have been windsurfing since the summer of 1982 and will continue to pursue my addiction for the foreseeable future.
Work hard to play hard.
