| 07-17-2011 - Marion Lepert wins Formula Worlds |
|
| Marion Lepert has won the Women's 2011 Formula Windsurfing World Title in Puerto Rico! |
|
After 15 races Puerto Rico has delivered in fine style. The regatta was run with rave reviews from the racers on the incredible hospitality the island served up. While some days were challenging with storm cells and wild winds all in all the weather was perfect for challenging all aspects of the sailors abilities from nuking high winds to more moderate 15mph days; the perfect ingredients for crowning a world champ.
San Francisco is beaming with pride at their new world champion in the 15 year old Marion Lepert. Lepert has been training hard and despite her young age has been serving up a generous dose of humility to the local adult racers for the past two years. One mistake in the local fleet and Lepert goes sailing on by. This recent win will most surely give her the confidence she needs to shine at the upcoming Techno World Championships on her home waters this July 19th through the 24th.

Marion used her NX 8.2 and 9.9 sails to win 9 of the 15 races. Congratulations Marion from the whole Sailworks team!
